Perhaps, the most important thing that you need to remember, when choosing an affiliate program, is to not pick the first affiliate program that you come across. This is a big mistake that many affiliate program participants make. Unfortunately for you, this can be a costly mistake. What many do not realize is that the product you choose to promote will reflect on you and your business. That is why it is important that you take the time to thoroughly examine an affiliate program first. For instance, if your own website focuses on computer programming, you will not want to join an affiliate program that sells pet products. Joining an affiliate program that is related, in one way or another, to your own website may increase your chances of making a sale; thus increasing your profits.

Although it is important to choose a quality product to stand behind, you also need to remember that your goal is to make money. One of the easiest ways to make a substantial amount of money is to choose an affiliate program that pays their affiliates decently. The average commission for affiliates is three to five percent of each sale made. While this is a good percentage to make, there are higher paying affiliate programs. Affiliate Marketing - Steps to Take

Morning! It's another beautiful sunny day in Canada! :-) Around Abbotsford, BC, there is a lot of rain :( Not much of a sprinkler girl! I love the sun! Cozy & bright!

I just thought since I gave you the heads on what affiliate marketing is, I should also tell you of some sites you need to join to get the full benefit of being an affiliate marketer.

OK, first we need a place where you can collect your cash! You don't want to lose on those commissions now. You can get a Paypal &/or a Clickbank account. All you have to do is go to their site & sign up for it with a valid email address and add your details on how you would like to collect your $$$

A website is necessary so your customers can take a look at your affiliate products for more information. There are a host of websites on the web & I'll let you do the handy work there. You will also need an autoresponder so you have a place where you have all your messages on auto. You won't have to write that article 50 times, just once!

Now, for promoting your products, you have to keep up on what the web 2.0 is all about so you can take advantage of all the viral marketing. You need the 'viral' to get people to sign up on your list. All you have to do is tell a few friends & get them to tell other people. These other people tell others, you get the drift. You can get a whole bunch of subscribers this way! That's what is so great about web 2.0 The internet has changed a lot since I started marketing. If you have just started on the internet, this is an advantage for you & you should use it regularly.

The best way to market your products online is to use web 2.0 What is web 2.0? Web 2.0 is blogging, squidooing, podcasting, using myspace.com, YouTube.com. You name it! Audio & video has become very popular this past year. I recommend you use these tools to build your list. I have a myspace.com at www.myspace.com/frantech I haven't checked out YouTube yet, but I will when I'm ready.

An ezine is a very good marketing tool, but I don't use it because I think it is just a hassle to keep it brand new. That's why I use a blog. Blogging is like talking to your best friend, telling them about what you think. All you have to do is write in it regularly & have backlinks on it with RSS & atoms. Now, I'm actually reading on this RSS. It sounds like it's so technical & hard to understand it, but when you start actually doing it, it gets to be fun! Serious! You also want to social bookmark & tag your sites as you write an article on it, so you get more exposure! Just go to OnlyWire & sign up for an account.

To find a product to sell, you can find a niche anywhere on the web like travelling or losing weight. You just have to find the right one that is going to work for you! Or you can use your clickbank account as they also promote affiliate products you can sell. It is very easy to get your product running on your website. Yeah, right! You just need to know where to look for help if you are having trouble uploading a product or even just getting a product. This is why I'm here! So, if you need guidance, I'm here for you! The other day I asked a few known marketers about what they thought of my blog & to give me a serious opinion. They told me 'it's a great site, but it needs content.' I was thrilled for their opinion, much less saying I was offering too much 'offers'. I just wanted to tell you affiliate marketers what I thought was good offers that I was introduced to. I'm pretty much just learning as you are, so I'll give you more 'content'. If I never gave you any content on what affiliate marketing was, why do I have a blog?

OK, affiliate marketing is basically...well, you know what? I'm going to write a poem for you about affiliate marketing. Does that sound great? I love poetry, so here it is...

A New Internet?

Imagine a new technology of a different Internet2. That's right! One of the first creators of the Internet wants to start over from scratch to have an Internet without spam, phishing, or hackers. Can they do it? Maybe if they did part by part, not the whole system! A team of university students would work on it & it would take at least another 10-15 years before they could harvest together an Internet that would go with Web 2.0 and web domination. This Internet is now called Internet2, a high technology version of the first Internet.

Are you addicted to the Internet? It's called Internet Addiction Disorder (IAD), a mental disorder. Do you spend time on the Internet when you are supposed to be doing work? It's a compulsive behaviour problem, widely known when a person can't help but to go on the Internet. The only treatment? Traditional cognitive-behavior techniques in psychotherapy.

I spend at least more than half the day on the Internet. I find myself drawn to the Internet, I have to check my email! I'm up all night surfing and trying my darndest to get my Marketing on the road!

Good evening marketers!

I know the last post was kind of unexpected. It's there for a reason, though. You see, when I started marketing, I didn't have all that information at my fingertips. I was starting practically from scratch! I'm still learning. This is my first blog. I would like all the marketers to sit back and think when you started out. Did you have all those e-books at your convenience? Technology is changing with time & I think it is for the better! We now have MP3's, DVD players, IPOD's, you know, the mechanism you have to buy right away before it becomes obsolete!

Marketing is also changing on the Internet. Is it ever! We're blogging, using video and audio. Who knows when the third will come around. The best thing to come yet will be so streaming, it will be unreal!

What do you like the best out of all the technology? Blogging is for me! I love the way you can just sit and type what you're thinking...like having a diary, but it's not personal. We post to other blogs and get to know each other, become friends on cyberspace. It's so cool! There's another side to blogging. You have to know all about the workings of making a blog. Having a blog w/ Blogger is not as great as Wordpress, I found out. W/Wordpress, you can do so much more!
